One of District 220’s most beloved teachers, Georgia Nelson, is retiring. We hope that you will join us on May 17, 2019, for a retirement dinner to honor Georgia for her unwavering dedication to teaching and to wish her good luck in her future endeavors. This evening celebration will include a dinner buffet, dessert and soft drinks. A cash bar will also be available. Space is limited, so please do not delay in purchasing your tickets for this special event.
As many of you know, Georgia has become very involved in INGAGE, Unlimited, a nonprofit organization which sends teams of educators worldwide to aid under-resourced communities. Over the past few years she has traveled to the Middle East and Central America to provide training and support to teachers in impoverished areas. Georgia plans to continue the work she has been doing with INGAGE after her retirement from District 220. To express our sincere gratitude for all Georgia has done for gifted education in our district, as well as to support her worthy mission with INGAGE, we are collecting contributions to a retirement gift to support her travel. If you would like to contribute to this retirement gift, you can do so under “Georgia’s Globetrotting Gift."
Most importantly, and regardless of whether you can join us on May 17, we are collecting special memories, notes and photos that will be shared with Georgia. There are 2 different forms that you can use to contribute to this effort: one for her former/current students and one for parents and community. Any additional notes to Georgia and/or photos you wish to include in the scrapbook can be sent to [email protected]. Please submit all contributions by Monday, April 1.
We hope to see you on May 17!
